The recipient market matters
The price follows the recipient’s country, not the sender’s location.
The message category matters
Marketing, Utility and Authentication each have their own price.
The service window matters
Every customer message opens a 24-hour reply window. Eligible ad entry can open a separate 72-hour free period.
What changes the price?
Delivery, category and recipient country
Meta charges for delivered business messages. The recipient’s phone country code determines the market; the approved template category determines the price. Customer messages and failed or pending deliveries have no Meta message charge.
24 hours: when you can reply
Each customer message opens or resets a 24-hour reply window. Free-form service replies are only allowed during that window. Outside it, use an approved template. Before October, in-window service and utility replies are free.
72 hours: eligible free entry
An eligible click-to-WhatsApp ad or Facebook Page button can open a 72-hour free period when you reply within 24 hours. The 72 hours begin with that reply. After the reply window closes, you still need a template, even during the free period. Ad spend is separate.
What changes on 1 October 2026?
Utility templates become billable inside the reply window. Service replies use a free allowance of 1000 delivered messages per business phone number per month, shared across 1:1 and group deliveries. Additional service messages are charged at the market’s service rate, with no volume discount. Unused allowance does not roll over.
Volume discounts and international verification
Utility and authentication discounts apply progressively to billable volume. Free deliveries do not count toward paid tiers. International authentication rates apply only to eligible businesses and markets, following Meta’s notification; they do not apply to every overseas OTP.
Timing and scope
Pricing changes follow the message delivery time in the WhatsApp Business Account timezone. This simulator keeps all messages inside the chosen pricing period and one month. It does not send messages or calculate group delivery charges. Meta may update rates quarterly.
